There is a free e-mail service, "Letters from Home", which GEnie is providing. You must dial into their network. You do NOT need to be a Genie subscriber to use this service. GE transmits the letters to Saudi Arabia and prints them there for physical distribution. Before sending a Letter from Home you must know the following information about the intended recipient: - Name & Rank - Social Security Number - Unit or Ship Name - APO or FPO Number Call the GEnie Client Services at 1-800-638-9636 to get your local access number. I found that you must turn on "Local Echo" in your PC software or on your terminal. I am in no way affiliated with Genie or General Electric.
