Message-ID: <91057.114548MUHRTH@DB0TUI11.BITNET> Date: 26 Feb 91 09:45:48 GMT Organization: Technical University Berlin Lines: 18 We just received our copy of ST/V Windows and after some irritating experiences it works. Be aware all of you who switch from ST/V 286 to the new version: After completeing the installation (which goes straightforward from within windows) nothing would work until we discovered the following: a GO file is not installed in the new direc- tory and ST WIN doesn't need one. So far so good, but: if your old go-file is in the scope of command.com (via APPEND) you will experience strange phenomenons, because it will be loaded by ST V Win producing lots of garbage! Hopefully it didn't ruin the change.log and image. So: install your new ST in a dedicated directory AND prohibit access on the old go file by removing the APPEND command from the autoexec and restart. - Thomas ------- Thomas Muhr, Technical University of Berlin, BITNET: muhrth@db0tui11 Project ATLAS - Computer Based Tools for Qualitative Research "Computers, like every technology, are a vehicle for the transformation of tradition."
