Jacot Guillarmod) Newsgroups: comp.mail.elm Subject: time zone confusion - failure to RTFM or something more sinister ;-) Message-ID: Date: 13 Feb 91 16:38:57 GMT Sender: news@quagga.ru.ac.za (Rhodes News Administration) Organization: Rhodes University, Grahamstown, RSA Lines: 21 We are running elm 2.3 pl 11 on a Sparcstation with Sunos 4.1.1. Because of our geographical location (South Africa) none of the 'standard' time zones apply, so we have gone for the following date construct on the system: Wed Feb 13 18:24:17 GMT+0200 1991 which is nice and unambiguous. However, the date as set up in the message headers by elm looks like this: > Date: Tue, 12 Feb 91 23:53:24 EET We have somehow been transported to the Soviet Union...... all a bit confusing! Any ideas on whether this is a bug? Is there a workaround of some sort? Anything I have missed out on in the configuration manual? -- F.F.
