On a (slightly) related topic:

I am interested in knowing if anyone has added functionality to the
UCB Mail program to make it serve as a POP2 or POP3 client.  If it has
not been done, I am interested in doing it myself.

If anyone has information on this topic, please email me directly at
ault@rpi.edu.   I am especially interested in hearing from people from
MIT (as I know they have worked in the POP area) or the folks who
currently maintain the Berkeley Software Distribution.
