Can't seem to send email to Fidonet! Keywords: fidonet, mail, zone, net, point Message-ID: <1991Feb24.225330.2356@bilver.uucp> Date: 24 Feb 91 22:53:30 GMT Distribution: na Organization: W. J. Vermillion - Winter Park, FL Lines: 27 I have been trying to send email to fidonet, and have failed miserably in all my attempts. I am using John Chew's recent article on inter-network mail as a guide. In the example on mailing from internet to fido, if the recipient is John Smith at 1:2/3.4 then the address I am supposed to use is john.smith@p4.f3.n2.z1.fidonet.org There are two problems. The fido address I need to send to is not a point, so the address is actually of the form 1:2/3 instead of 1:2/3.4. What do I do in this case? The second problem is that the mailer here will only accept the 'bang' type of addresses of the form ...site1!site2!site3!username instead of the username@site form. I can send to uunet from here, but uunet is sending back every attempt I make. Please help!
