Summary: GNU Emacs and private mailing lists Message-ID: <236@tots.UUCP> Date: 25 Feb 91 18:41:30 GMT Reply-To: tep@tots.UUCP (Tom Perrine) Organization: Logicon, Inc., San Diego, California Lines: 34 I use GNU Emacs RMAIL and Mail modes on Sun 3s and Sun 4s. I would like to establish private mailing lists via aliases in my .mailrc file (which Emacs read just fine). In these lists I would like to use full RFC addresses (see below). However, the format of .mailrc does not seem to allow white space in an address. I have tried a gazillion different combinations of quotes and other magic characters, but every whitespsace character becomes a new address, e.g. alias my-friends "Tom Perrine " yields tom, perrine, as three different addresses. I know I can do this with alias lists in sendmail.cf, but I would rather do this in my own mailrc if possible. I know about the "remote" alias list feature of sendmail, but thats not what I really want. For now, I just paste in a file that has the addresses I want. Any other suggestions?
