Using those programs as a sequencer is not very wise. I think the midisupport
was only added to make arranging/editing easier. Although you can make some 
songs with them (only 4 voice polyphony), I've made some. But to really use 
Midi to make music you'll need a real sequencer (for example Music-X)...
