Keywords: CAP papif Tektronix Printstation Message-ID: Date: 26 Feb 91 07:38:15 GMT Sender: news@cernvax.cern.ch Lines: 23 We have a Tektronix Printstation driving a color PostScript printer that hooks up to AppleTalk. The setup behaves like a LaserWriter but requires release 6.0 of the LaserWriter driver. Printing to the Station with CAP/papif works fine, BUT: In the stations' log file all jobs from from papif appear as coming from user 'Unknown'. On a Mac instead the user registers the name of his Mac in the chooser which then appears in the printstation's log. Does anybody know how this works? I have intercepted the Mac PostScript file in the hope that the info would be buried somewhere in the '%%' comments, but when I papif that file it still comes from 'Unknown'. I have found no parameter in the PAP protocol in Inside AppleTalk. The PostScript 'jobname' command is issued correctly inside papif. Thanks for any help. -- Rainer Toebbicke European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) Geneva, Switzerland rtb@cernapo.cern.ch, rtb@cernvm.cern.ch Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
