I'm going to implement Virtual Filestore (VFS) to the top of the UNIX file
system. Other parts of FTAM have been implemented before.

My question is about the interface between FTAM and VFS. Is there any 
well-known interface (API) between them ? Or has anyone done such
interface before ?

If there is well-known API I could modify the existing FTAM to fit
that API. In future this kind of API would be very useful if I had to 
replace VFS or FTAM with more efficient one. Also some other FTAM could 
use my VFS.
