Whenever someone posts to an interest group (e.g. tcp-ip), the mail the rest of us receive as part of the distribution of that posting shows tcp-ip-RELAY@NIC.DDN.MIL in the From: field of the header. I think your local mailer is at fault. As you can see above, your message arrived here with a proper "From:" field. The SMTP envelope did contain tcp-ip-RELAY@nic.ddn.mil, but that should only be used for bounces (and I appreciate their doing that so I don't see the bounces when I post :-). I suspect some local mail delivery system at your end or your mail user agent is misinterpreting the RFC822 header and/or the RFC821 envelope. __ /| /| /| \ Michael A.
