I would really love the following:

	* a program/script to monitor the network traffic in my area - I'm in a
local-area ethernet on the other side of a bridge from the rest of the
world - i'd like to monitor the traffick in my local-area net.

	* a program that would monitor the amount of disk space i have free,
compare it with the last recorded amount and return the raw amount plus
a percentage change for local and nfs mounted partitions.

	(note: I can write the second one, if I have to, but i'd really like to
get on with other things...)
