I am trying to experiment with running a series of engineering design codes
and would like to embed a public domain spreadsheet within the design codes to
perform data transformations and data passing between programs. Graphics would be
a plus but is not critical.

Are there any public domain spreadsheet programs available? If so then 
I would really appreciate some pointers to them and any comments about
their functionality good or bad.

I will summarize all the information that I receive and post it.
