The local Educational dealer knew nothing about a new program but called Commodore to find out. While I was waiting for them to return my call I decided to call Commodore and find out for myself what the status is. I called their main office around 12:00~1:00 today Friday 22 and was told that the Educational program scheduled to go in effect February 1st did not really go into effect. It is being revamped and will be released Early in March. The person I spoke with was not much help and had a hard time committing to much of anything. When I called back the local dealer I pretty much got the same story with one additional note, Howard Diamond, as well as some of his staff have been fired for a lack of results. NOTE: this was from a dealer NOT Commodore so I am not 100% sure of it's truth. Either way, would someone of authority from Commodore please update us to the status of the Educational program and get the word out to the dealers. I had the feeling that the dealer I spoke with was as upset as I was about not being to answer my questions. Jim Coleman A story for the Education people at Commodore: This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to do and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it. But Nobody did it. Somebody got angry at that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it. But Nobody realized Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If Commodore were to come out with a shirt-pocket, 100 MIPS Amiga with 20 megs of memory and 1 gig of disk, and sold it for $300, the first thing the industry would ask is "Is it IBM compatible?". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
