Gah. This question gets asked over and over again. Maybe we need a daily frequently asked questions list. Here is the straight stuff: 2.0 will work in the A500, and does not require the new chip set (although you need the new chips for some of the new display modes, natch). 2.0 has not been officially released. It is still in beta-test. The only way to get it (at this writing) is to buy a A3000. And then, you are really playing beta-tester for CBM if you boot up in 2.0 mode. Sooner or later, CBM will release ROM upgrade kits, so that you can take your A500 down to the shop, and bring it home with the release version of 2.0x. -- Dave Schaumann | Is this question undecidable? dave@cs.arizona.edu |
