Anyway, not that I have most of the problems licked, I am still having problems communicationg with the printer. BAck when we upgraded from 10.1 to 10.2, we lost the only copy of our printcap file that used to work, and I'm not having too much success at reconstructing it. Could anyone out there who uses an apple laserwriter as their printer be so kind as to send me a copy of their /etc/printcap file? I'd sure appreciate the help. ERic The OCF -- Bad computers for Bad people -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is our printcap entry for our HP Postscript Printer, which should work fine for an Apple Laserwriter (both are Postscript): rpost108|M/CS 108 HP Laserjet Postscript Printer:\ :lp=/dev/pio1:sd=//cc4/usr/spool/lpd/rpost108:sh:sf:sc:mx#0:\ :if=//cc1/usr/spool/lpd/txt2ps.filter:\ :fc#0000374:fs#0000003:xc#0:xs#0040040: if you don't have a Postscript filter then I believe you can use /usr/lib/lpf for your input filter (:if). Hope this works for you...
