You can get the same "noise" on an Apple Monitor /// if you disconnect the incoming signal, and then drive the brightness ALL the way up (at least this works on mine). I used to work in the Engineering dept at WOUB-TV here at OU, and I'd notice monitors "screaming" that others people didnt notice. Apparantly not everyone can hear it.
