If so, let me enlighten you: files that end in .SHK are binary images of shrinkit archives (that means the data in them is exactly the same as what's on the disk when you create a shrinkit archive). when you FTP them you MUST type 'bin' to set binary/image transfer mode, or else the file's data will be altered on it way to you and that corrupts the archive. the same problem can occur when you download the file to your computer -- kermit will only do binary transfers if BOTH the local and remote kermits have been instructed to use binary transfer (this is one thing about kermit that annoys me). once you have the file on your own system, shrinkit may not recognize it, although it should -- always try hitting 'see all files' before you give up on a file.
