PLEASE READ IF YOU OWN A 1581 DRIVE! I have used the 3 1/2" drive out of a 1581 on another computer. The problem is that I changed the jumpers on the back of the drive (Not the unit number dip switches). If you have a 1581 PLEASE take the two screws out that hold the case on and check the jumpers on the rear of the disk drive. Which ones need to be jumpered? Knowing there are different drives used in the 1581, mine has 5 sets of jumpers on the rear of the drive next to the 34 pin drive connector. To clarify, that is a 2x5 matrix of pins with the jumpers installed vertically connecting two pins. __________________ Drive conn.--> |__________________| ::::: <-- jumper pins Again, I have been unable to figure this out! The drive works, and the hardware works... so what jumper settings will make these two work in perfect harmony? Please respond ASAP! I am not going to be able to sell this to the prospective buyer if it does not work. Thanks in advance.... *********************************************************** * Jeff Davis * Relax!
