At least some of us try to not let it become HP only. ;-( I have not worked much with my 8000 and just tried very minimally to use the terminal mode. Instead of a real modem/login service I hooked it up to my PC with a null modem (just as a test) . The trick is to keep sending "OK"s to it to get it to go to the next step. It seems that you must have a HAYES compatible modem as it gives you no other choice. I am traveling right now (and calling in long distance) so give me a week and when I get back I'll see what else I have in notes back home on using the Wizard as a terminal. hope this helps .. cheers .. joe.f.
