Bingo! The modem bits >now worked, and the modem hung up when carrier dropped. I tried this technique on an 835 running 7.0 and did not get the desired results. Has anyone out there got a short synopsis of how to get modem control working (dial in, hang up, computer log you out; dial in, log out, computer drops dtr to hang up)?? Apparently the 3/4xx and 8xx techniques are slightly different.
