The saga continues.. Well, given that my 9000-350 does not have any empty slots, I was adviced to install a backplane expander as my best option to get more serial ports. We happened to have an HP98568A 8-slot backplane expander here, so I checked the "Installing Peripherals" manual, and it does say this works for the 350. When trying to install it, though I find that the manual (and expander) assume that the computer has "short" DIO1 slots, whereas my 350 has long DIO2 slots. This makes it impossible to connect the expander to the computer, since the "connectors" supplied with the expander do not correspond to the ones used in the 350, and also because the connection is assumed to take place in the "middle" of the long slots, where nothing exists. Where do I go from here? Is there some kind of "adapter" I need to connect the "long slot" 350 to the backplane adapter? /Luis -- Luis Miguel.
