I've added a 1.44 disk drive to the computer and can not get the drive to work correctly. Sometimes it reads and writes to the drive correctly other times I get a dos error 27 (can't find sector). The internal disk drive checked out fine according to the technician at the dealer. He said that the bios was too old to support a 1.44 drive. The only solution would be to find a device driver to get around the old bios or install a 720 drive which should work. Has anyone successfully installed a 1.44 in an at this old? Does anyone know of a device driver that could be used to get around this problem? Would a bios upgrade solve this problem, if so does ibm still sell these chips? Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please post or e-mail any info to dordaz@magnus.ircc.ohio-state.edu Thanks!
