Keywords: 6809 application realtime Message-ID: <1991Feb26.193050.27867@cbnewsd.att.com> Date: 26 Feb 91 19:30:50 GMT Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories Lines: 22 For those of you who don't read socially relevant newsgroups like rec.games.pinball, here's some news to make your day. The latest and greatest pinball machine, Williams' FUNHOUSE, contains not one but two of our favorite 8-bit micro. One is used to run the speech and sound effects (if you haven't been to an arcade lately, you owe it to yourself to see and hear what can be done, whether or not you play any games -- just walk thru). FunHouse includes extensive self-diagnostics, which you can even get out on a printer interface. If you see the machine, and imagine trying to fix it, you'll see why. Lots of mechanical gadgets to get out of whack and spoil the game play. Anyway, the 6809 is alive and well in the world of real-time. Wonder if OS9 lurks within the pin's ROMs? Prob'ly not. Up till now, pins used mostly 6802s and Z80s. --mike k -- "What America needs is A Thousand Points When Lit..." "Damn!
