Honolulu, Hawaii Lines: 15 Hi, Anybody have unusual problems with the Sony 40MB HDs that Apple sells as the SC40? So far, three of them have died (or became unusable) within a month of each other. Two of them from recurring stuck spindle (or it could be "sticktion", but I have no way to tell for certain), and one from an intermittent failure on the logic board. That's 3 failures out of 17 of these (which are all about a year old), an unacceptably high failure rate for me. Does Sony have warrantee on these things for more than a year? I think we'll replace our with the trusty Quantums... -- Yuan Chang "What can go wrong, did" UUCP: {uunet, ucbvax, dcdwest}!ucsd!nosc!uhccux!yuan InterNet: yuan@uhccux.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu "Wouldn't you like to PhoneNet: (808) 737-6317 be an _A_m_i_g_o_i_d too?!?"
