Excellent for line-art, and the 'stitching' software is quick and accurate. Outputs to Paint, TIFF, and PICT formats -- basically everything I need. Quality is so-so on photographs -- certainly acceptable, very recognizable, lots of greyscale tweaking possible -- but the resolution just isn't as good as a 256-grey flatbed. However, the price certainly is right! Haven't used the other handhelds, but I picked the LightningScan after reading everything in print and I've been happy. +--------------------------+-------------------------------------------+ | Stephen Fleming | In ten years, computers will just be | | fleming@cup.portal.com | bumps in cables. --Gordon Bell | | CI$: 76354,3176 +-------------------------------------------| | BIX: srfleming | My employers may disagree vehemently. |
