Summary: Followup to: "System 7.0 ruined my hard disk" Message-ID: Date: 11 Feb 91 09:58:13 GMT Sender: news@dutrun.UUCP Reply-To: leo@duttnph.tudelft.nl Lines: 24 A week or so ago I posted a plea for help when after being careless with System 7.0 system files, my hard disk became inaccessible. I expected some response, but I was totally unprepared for the large number of replies and helpful suggestions I received. I want to thank everyone for their support, it was really great. (Oh, and I tried to reply to everyone in person, so if you haven't heard from me, blame it on mail) I have never discovered what was the cause of my problem. Eventually I was saved by sheer luck: when everything I tried had failed to work, and even reformatting the drive was impossible because *all* software refused to recognize the disk, I did the only thing I had not tried before: I stuck my SCSI cable into the *other* SCSI hole in the back of my hard disk. That was it. The drive is now recognizable again, and I am very very happy, though I do feel a bit silly for not having tried this two weeks ago. Once again, my thanks to you all, Peace, -- Leo Breebaart (leo @ duttnph.tudelft.nl)
