(i've already got the dock and menus pushed off the bottom of the screen.) that's when i reach for the following handy csh one-liner: echo Beepwindow currentwindowbounds pop 12 Beepwindow placewindow | pft which reduces the icon to a mere 12 pixels high. obvious points: - replace 12 with whatever height you want (it's initially 64) - the icon won't be as pretty any more - if you reduce the height to zero you'll probably have trouble pulling the dock back up (although you can increase the height again later) -- .mike.
