Cover shows a NeXT with samples from a CD on the screen. The article covers several platforms.. what one gathers is that MOST of the effort these days goes into Digital to DISK recording, editing, sampling etc. While this is certainly GREAT and NEEDED in the music industry.. no one seems to be developing the "ultimate" music publishing/composing package. The NeXt would be the IDEAL platform. Frankly, I would buy a NeXT YESTERDAY if there were such a package. *** BUT *** because development in this area of application seems dead, to wit: Mark of the UNICORN stopped, Coda stopped, PASSPORT says it will never even attempt...I am forced to buy a "slow" mac or "486" to run a "slow and cumbersome' FINALE or SCORE. There is a great opportunity for the NeXT to be the ultimate in music composition, recording, publishing. IS anybody working on it? kevin ramsiri@blake.acs.washington.edu .
