It started as a 8Mb optical+40Mb system and is growing into a real system. I first got 8 more Mb of memory, which made a noticable improvement switching between and loading applications. I recently got a Fujitsu M2263S disk and now have more disk space than I know what to do with (for now!). The disk, as you would expect, has made the most significant improvement in speed. Applications load much faster, the machine boots faster, everything is faster. Now I'm waiting for my '040 upgrade. I ordered it in November from MIT, right after I got my cube. I keep hearing how people on the net are getting their upgrades and was wondering how many people have got theirs and how many are still waiting. It is now near the end of February and I haven't gotton any word or estimate or anything. It just seems like a long time to wait. Still waiting... tjb P.S. All this talk about people still having their '030 boards after the upgrade; Aren't you _required_ to send your '030 board back as soon as you drop the '040 in? -- ____________________________________________________________________________ | INTERNET: tjb@IceCube.unh.edu USPS: Thomas Baker | | USENET: uunet!IceCube.unh.edu!tjb P.O.
