Today I unpacked the latest and greatest version 8.x of the packet drivers for the WD8003e series of boards, and replaced the version 7.x that I was ruinning. EVerything went fine until I tried to use it. First thing I noticed was that it was aware the card was 16-bit, great I thought, but there the happiness ends. The damn thing don't work. ipx loads fine, but xmsnet4.exe cant find a file server and times out (after a short wait or 2-3 secs). NCSA Telnet cant get anything (Error getting RARP request back) and neither does WNQVTNET (packet error #8?). Has anybody else seen this? The packet drive was from clarkson.... and was in pktd8_0s.zip Until then I'm struggling along on 7.x -- ============================================================================== | Hamish Marson | | Computer Support Person, Computer Science Department | | University of Waikato | |Disclaimer: Anything said in this message is the personal opinion of the | | finger hitting the keyboard & doesn't represent my employers | | opinion in any way.
