NFS is a _public domain_ protocol put out by Sun Microsystems. Sources are available both from me (in the form of SOS) and from uunet.uu.net. SOS has been modified, relatively easily within 2-1/2 weeks of my time, to support many Novell file authentication features. It doesn't offer the level of performance which an NFS TSR running directly on the server offers, but it's my bet that someone can accomplish this for a whole lot less than five grand. So, Novell, whadya say? How about charging the $500 which, say, Santa Cruz Operation is charging? Or even, shudder, the $0 which Sun charges (i.e., throw it in with your TCP/IP product)? -rich Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
