Because of the popularity of the SS1, these upgrades were apparently never shipped. End of story. Or so I thought... I the December 1990 issue of the Software Technical Bulletin, there is a small one page article breifly talking about this upgrade (UG-RR-350). Before I had read this (last month) I had talked to several Sun personel and they all knew the upgrade exsisted at one point but couldn't find any recent info concerning it. Does anyone out there know anything about this upgrade?? I currently have a 386i/150 at home and would like to somehow get it upgraded. While I'm on the subject of upgrading, I've also toyed with the idea of upgrading my system via a faster crystal (20Mhz to 25Mhz) I know this can be done but I may run into some problems with heat disipation (among other things). I would really like to plug a 33Mhz into it but I've hear that some of the motherboard circuitry may not be able to handle it (i.e caching circuits). Would anyone care to comment on this?? Thanks for any info in advance, Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
