From home, using the modem, my *old* 24x80 Esprit-II feels *very* cramped. I would really love a terminal with 40 or 50 lines. The other thing I've become used to is the meta key toggling the eighth bit (useful in GNU Emacs etc). Do terminals support this eighth-bit control, and could it work with the 2400 baud, run-of-the-mill modems making up the link? Please point me to this group's FAQ archive if it exists and is relevant. Otherwise I would appreciate any information about terminals with more than 24 lines (80 columns is fine) and an RS-232 interface. And, any information regarding eighth-bit control by such terminals. Estimates of reasonable prices for used equipment would also help. The only such terminal heard of is the WYSE-60; how does it rate? Please e-mail me, I'll summarize if response so warrants. Thanks in advance. -- Hugh Secker-Walker INTERNET: hugh@ear-ache.mit.edu MIT, Research Lab of Electronics UUCP: mit-eddie!mit-athena!hugh Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
