Can any one EXACTLY tell me what \topfraction, \bottomfraction topnumber bottomnumber totalnumber \textfraction and \floatpagefraction do. What is their interaction with each other? The Latex manual tells me only so much. A clearpage goes some of the way to adressing the issue but unless your lucky there may be ugly whitespace left on the previous page. And even then when two floats are placed on the floats page there appears to heaps of white space that could be used by text (except that only floats can be placed on a floats page) Any pointers in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
