the isbn you gave for the TeX book (0-201-13448-9) is for the soft cover
book. The hardcover is 0-201-13447-0. This information was obtained from
MY copy (softcover) of the TeX book, 17th printing, dated January 1990.
 
I believe the price you quoted for the TeX Book ($30.25) was for the
hardcover copy.
