We have just installed an RS6000 model 540.  We have several unix
machines all communicating via a multiport transceiver (IEEE 802.3).
This machine refuses to talk to the ethernet; however, the transceiver
does recieve packets during a ping (none transmitted).  I have been through
the procedure in smit several times with no success.  Has anyone had
similar problems?  How can I resolve this?  Note that ifconfig looks ok.
