We have just installed Ingres 6.3/03p on an RS600 Model 540 and are 
terribly disappointed at the response.  It can take up to 5 minutes to 
get a screen up from createdb or accessdb.  Looking at vmstat and sar, 
however, it appears that nothing extraordinary is happening - ( maybe 
that's just it - nothing is happenning!).

I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with Ingres on a 540.
Local Ingres support claims its a problem with the configuration - but 
can't say what.  We have 64 MB memory and a total of 278 MB paging 
space.  We used all of the Ingres default parameters.  

My guess is that Ingres is not finding the resources, but how can I,
tell what is happening? Any pointers would be most appreciated.
