A while back, I posted a message here asking if my Callan Unistar 300, running Unistar UNIX System V release 4.2, could support networking, e.g. TCP/IP and UUCP. I got a whole bunch of replies saying that "yes, this system can support UUCP by defualt, since all UNIXes have them. But TCP/IP? Nah..." Recently, I was poking around the /usr/include directory, and discovered a subdirectory below that: /usr/include/net. Being the curious fellow that I am, I peeked in there... and found quite a surprise. Network include files: socket.h, tcp-ip.h, et al. Now this brings me to a mental paradox: CAN my machine support TCP/IP? Frankly, I'm too confused, so I don't know. Can any of you answer me? Please mail all replies to dburr@ocf.berkeley.edu Thanks! ______________________________________________________________________________ Donald Burr; Univ of California, Berkeley | America Online: DonaldBurr INTERNET: dburr@ocf.Berkeley.EDU |_CompuServe:_72540,3071____________ or: 72540.3071@compuserve.COM | "Send flames to /dev/null."
