(2) if the answer to (1) is yes, then is there any debugger taking advantage of it ? dbx 2.0 simply chokes on stop (with a "DBX Fault: Segmentation fault"), while dbx 2.10.1 (from a field test ULTRIX T4.2) uses the old "single stepping" method.
