Try:
#Cartridge tape 1
media /dev/erct0 k 140000 tape erase

This is what someone at SCO recommended to me, and it works.  It's
a little strange to see backup refer to a 140mb floppy though.  Evidently,
the driver fails to read the media size from the tape drive, and this
kludge works.

Oh yeah, I like erct0 rather that rct0.  I think the ecc might save me
when the tape head is a little dirty, or the tape is crummy.  ecc does use
some space though.
