There are quite a few X servers for that DOS PC out there the one that I'm using is called HCL-exceed plus. It runs under DOS with tcp/ip. Its a pretty good X server, fast, many fonts etc. It runs on 286,386 or 486 systems, the more memory you have the better. I also evaluated another PC/X server called PC XVIEW, this server seemed just as good as the exceed plus, but I saw some performance comparisons somewhere that said that exceedp was faster. Both of these packages allow you to suspend your X session to run DOS programs and then hot key back to the X session. There are also packages that allow the X server to run under windows 3.0, which allow the X server to run while DOS programs are running, I've heard that the performance on these isn't that good. Also there's this soon to be released Desqview/X which sounds like the PC X server to beat all. Hope this helps Keith Alston -- "In this world you must be OH so smart or OH so pleasant...
