One of my colleagues is trying to set up a number of Sun workstations
under xdm.  To conserve scarce disk space, he placed the xdm executable
on a Sun server that is NFS mounted onto the various workstations.  The
problem is that this doesn't work.  Apparently xdm needs to run as root,
but NFS is derailing the setuid-root functionality.  Are there any
solutions/ideas about this problem out there?
