To conserve scarce disk space, he placed the xdm executable on a Sun server that is NFS mounted onto the various workstations. The problem is that this doesn't work. Apparently xdm needs to run as root, but NFS is derailing the setuid-root functionality. Are there any solutions/ideas about this problem out there? --- stew@hanauma.stanford.edu
