I have just installed nntp on a new machine. My problem is that it takes more
than one minute for it to answer the first time.

I use inetd to start new client processes, when the new process is created
it just doesn't do anything for a minute or two. It doesn't change the title
in the proctable and it doesn't log any new client entry in the log file
It doesn't matter if the active file is three or 1500 lines long the 
problem is the same. 

When the client finaly answers everything is ok, I get correct and fast answers
from it.
