Is this really true.  I have two avacado trees and my Amazon loves
them.  Admittedly, he gets only a small portion, and he's just now 
going on two years old, so only one avacado season has passed.
Avacado meat is pretty messy too.

Fortunately, my bird has never been a picky eater.  He likes (wants)
anything he sees me eating, and gets several fresh vegies every day.
He does seem to go through periods where he prefers the seed to the
vegies, though.
