Ok. I am currently designing a video display for a system I have almost finished. But the display is becomming a problem due to the lack of parts in my part of the world. To date I have drawn up Idea's around the TMS9927. It is a 40 pin ic that controls the complete RGB process for a video display. But it cannot handle 80 column text, nor a reasonable high resolution, let alone speed. It does have sprites, collision detection etc. Does anyone recommend an IC or an IC Chip set to handle the following. *high resolution (aaprox 400x400 or greater) *clean text, simple character generator implementation. *reasonable speed (5MHz) *easy programming and programming free timing (eg. HSYNC) *RGB Output *Common and available *good doccumentation for interfacing *not to require anymore than 8 Address and 8 Data lines *the ability to have its own memory array with its own cas and ras *if so then 8 bit memory *Be PAL compatible (Or depending on the clock frequency) Well thats all I can think of. if you have any idea's i would please to know. Thanks in advance Steveh t Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
