The Luftwaffe returns its attention to Malta.  About 60 bombers, with
fighter escort, hit the island's airfields, damaging or wrecking 13
Wellington bombers and 3 Hurricanes.  7 German planes are downed.

German occupation officials blame Jews for recent attacks and strikes
in Amsterdam and northern Holland and declare martial law in the area.

Spain and Britain announce that they have resolved their dispute over
Tangiers.  General Franco sends a letter to Adolf Hitler re-affirming
his support for the Axis.

British forces captured the Italian-owned island of Castellorizzo, south
of Turkey.
