We used to send out release notifications, back when our customer base
was small, and names and addresses kept in a plain ascii file. We
stopped when that stopped being maintainable. We spent some time
looking at databases, testing databases, etc., with an eye towards
establishing a system that can handle our current customer load. We
hope to be able to return to individual notifications soon.

For anyone who wants a look at what we've been doing over the last
year or two, our newsletters are available by anonymous ftp to
vaxeline.ftp.com, in the directory pub/newslet. (Yes, I realize it's
not the same.)
