Could somebody please point me in the direction of any easy to
comprehend essay on the purpose and use of the TCP-IP netmask feature?
Or, could someone e-mail me a brief description of netmask?  Some
specific questions are:

What is the difference between 255.255.255.0, 255.255.0.0 and 0.0.0.0?
How is the netmask used?
Why does it exist?
What other questions should be asked by a novice?
