Can someone tell me the advantages and disadvantages of networked
486/ms-dos machines in comparison to a large mainframe (IBM, VAX etc.).
My objective is Ada development with programs of about 500000 (five-hundred-
thousand) lines of source code (Non comment lines).
We will possible have ten 486 for this system.  
I would like to hear from software engineers/programmers who are using 
386/486 or upgraded PC's for software development.                  
Is there another interest group I could post this to?
