Yup.

It's possible, mechanicals aside.  Microbotics used to have a toy like this,
which let you bring the Starboard II from your A1000 into the first slot on
the A2000.  Might work for A500 addons as well, try contacting Microbotics.

A clever company would build an A500 add-on that, inside the case, actually
had a 100 pin Zorro II compatible bus.  I did actually know of one such
memory board, but the company making it didn't last long enough to get rich
and established on this technique.  There may be others doing it.  Being able
to bring your inventment in board and peripherals along with you when you
upgrade systems is certainly a good selling point.
